To Whom It May Concern:
The Christ Church Parish Kensington Episcopal Church in Kensington, Maryland is raising money to help our youth group “Journey to Adulthood” take a spiritual pilgrimage in June 2010 to Alaska. On January 10, 2010 the youth group is hosting a Twelfth Night Celebration and Silent Auction to help with their goal. Because your business has been recommended by our parishioners, we are writing to ask you to make a donation of a product or service to our Silent Auction.
The Christ Church Kensington Parish is more than 100 years old and we count more than 250 families as members. The Christ Church J2A youth program blends action and contemplation to teach young people how to lead faithful lives. They learn skills like active listening, negotiating, and leadership. After two years in the program, the J2A youth are invited to make a pilgrimage to a site thoughtfully chosen by the youth and their leaders.
Previous pilgrimages were a trip to Krakow, Poland to visit Holocaust sites, the walking of the Santiago Trail in Spain, and the most recent pilgrimage was to Costa Rica, where the youths cleared a soccer field for local children.

Thank you for your consideration. Your response before December 19, 2009 would assist us greatly with preparing our Auction catalog, although we would be grateful for your donation at any time. After receipt of your gift, you will receive a note of appreciation from our Parish which you can use for tax deduction purposes.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact Carrie Smith at 301-933-1392.
